How can RE deal with science? Should RE deal with science? Find out in this fascinating workshop featuring three RE teachers from across the country and led by senior representatives from the 'Science and Religion in Schools Project'. In the group is Kathryn Kane, a secondary RE teacher from Archbishop Tennyson High School in south London, Bernard Andrews, a secondary RE teacher from Oaklands Community School in Southampton, and Helen Wedge from The Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester. The workshop looks first at miracles and issues like rational thinking and different types of explanations. They then discuss environmental ethics and the use of models, and lastly, creation and the notion of terraforming, a useful scheme of work designed to bring the creation material alive. The session is led by editor-in-chief of the 'Science and Religion in Schools Project', Adrian Brown, and Paul Hopkins, the project manager.
