This is a lesson starter on fractions, designed for use in a KS3 maths lesson. The problem: Presenter Isaac Anoom challenges students to put these five fractions in order from the smallest to the largest: 1/9, 2/17, 3/29, 4/33, 5/43. Isaac explains that the traditional method of finding a common denominator and then comparing the numerators will be awkward for these fractions.
