Putting on a school show can be a daunting prospect so in this programme, Jo Fitzmaurice, music co-ordinator at Gloucester Primary School, guides us gently and skilfully through the process. She has chosen to stage a brand new musical based on the poem Goldilocks from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes. Jo talks about the ins and outs of choosing a play, and we see her conduct an early audition and casting session with pupils in a Year 3 class group. She introduces us to her team of teachers and support staff who help the children perform well as actors, dancers and singers, keeping up their motivation, enabling them to participate creatively in the production, and have fun while they are learning.
